Summary
Trustees approved rezoning a portion of 30675 North River Road from Single-Family Residential (R1-C) to Waterfront (WF) for a proposed boat-storage building, subject to planners' findings and a required legal description from the applicant.
The Harrison Township Board of Trustees voted April 28 to rezone a portion of 30675 North River Road (parcel #17-12-09-451-009) from Single-Family Residential (R1-C) to Waterfront (WF) to allow development of a boat-storage building.
Supervisor Kenneth Verkest said the applicant, MacRay Properties II LLC, presented the request to the Planning Commission on April 17, 2025, and that the commission recommended approval. The supervisor described the proposed use as winter boat storage and specified the applicant indicated the facility would not be rack storage.
Treasurer Lawrence Tomenello moved and Trustee Dean Olgiati seconded the motion to approve the rezoning, subject to the planners' findings numbered 1 through 7 in the planner's April 11, 2025 letter and to the applicant providing a legal description as part of the formal request and review. The board recorded AYES from Kenneth Verkest, Adam Wit, Lawrence Tomenello, David Bratto, Liza Brown and Dean Olgiati; Brian Batkins was excused. The motion carried.
The approval is conditioned on the planner findings and the applicant supplying the legal description; no construction approvals or permits were recorded in the minutes.
