Councilmember Evans moved to increase the city’s contribution to $10,000; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call with no disqualifying votes. City Attorney Todd confirmed by phone that the participating council members who have ties to the group (volunteer roles or family registrations) did not create a legal conflict that would preclude the council from approving the sponsorship so long as no personal financial benefit is taken.
