The LaSalle County Board approved a special-use ordinance April 9 to allow Brooks Reese / Bison Ballistic Holdings LLC to create two parcels of less than 35 acres from property in the A1 agricultural district in Ottawa Township (addresses and PINs were read into the record).
County staff summarized the zoning-board hearing (held 03/18/2026), the site legal descriptions and the zoning board’s unanimous recommendation for approval. The ordinance as read grants a special use to divide the subject property into a 7.41-acre parcel with a home and a 23.51-acre parcel intended for range use. The ordinance states it will be effective upon passage and publication in pamphlet form.
A formal motion to approve the special use carried on voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes.
