District, CSEA chapter 233 reach tentative multi-year deal; board approves pending county review
Summary
Jefferson Elementary trustees unanimously approved a tentative agreement with CSEA Chapter 233 covering 2025-28 that includes a 2% raise on July 1, 2025, a 1% raise on Jan. 1, 2026, and a 1.04% longevity increase on July 1, 2026; the agreement is subject to AB 1200 county certification and ratification.
The board considered a tentative agreement between Jefferson Elementary School District and CSEA Chapter 233 for 2025-28 and voted unanimously to approve the agreement, pending AB 1200 county approval and ratification by the bargaining unit.
As described in the agenda materials and read at the meeting, the agreement provides a 2% wage increase on the salary schedule effective July 1, 2025; a 1% increase effective Jan. 1, 2026; and a 1.04% increase to the longevity scale effective July 1, 2026. The tentative agreement also addresses multiple contract articles including holidays, hours and overtime, leaves of absence, vacation and evaluations as specified in the attached document.
Trustees thanked both negotiating teams and emphasized the collaborative nature of the talks. The motion to approve the tentative agreement passed unanimously; next steps include county certification and bargaining-unit ratification.
