Board directs execution of Fishbeck engineering services contract and adopts MTA governance principles
Summary

Supervisor Kenneth Verkest told the Board that, following direction from the Oct. 27, 2025 meeting and review by counsel, an engineering services contract had been developed and reviewed; the board directed the Supervisor to execute the contract with Fishbeck so Fishbeck can finish projects it is currently working on and to complete transfer work from Wade Trim.
The Board also considered and unanimously adopted the Michigan Township Association (MTA) Principles of Governance after the Supervisor summarized the MTA’s recommendation that the board deliberate and adopt the principles to increase efficiency and trust among members and the communities they serve.
Motions to direct the Supervisor to execute the Fishbeck contract and to adopt MTA Principles of Governance were passed without dissent. The Supervisor and Township Attorney had reviewed the draft contract and the board authorized final execution.
