The Village of South Barrington Board of Trustees on March 14 approved a slate of routine personnel, contract and public-safety measures, voting 4-0 with two trustees absent on motions that collectively affect municipal operations, emergency planning and police resources.
Mayor (President) Paula McCombie called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m., and Deputy Village Clerk Ashley Hrynko recorded a quorum with Trustees Joseph Abbate, Edgar Alvarado, Dr. Hina Patel and Dr. Anthony Stagno present; Trustees Stephen Guranovich and Dr. Kanu Panchal were absent.
The board concurred in the conditional appointment of full-time Police Officer Eric Santiago after a motion by Trustee Joseph Abbate and a second from Trustee Dr. Anthony Stagno. The board also approved hiring interns for the village following Abbate’s motion and Stagno’s second; the record shows unanimous ayes among present members.
In finance and administration, the trustees approved two warrant runs — $68,174.89 and $228,296.97 — and accepted the Statement of Revenues and Expenditures and the Detailed Balance Sheet as of Feb. 29, 2024. The board authorized a contract with Lauterbach & Amen LLP for auditing…
