Council approves consent agenda; Council member Ivanski recuses himself from donation item

Council member Ivanski asked the council to pull item 5.6 for transparency, saying he had a donation related to the item and did not want to approve it himself. "So for transparency, I have a donation on there, and I want to avoid parents and conflict by approving my own Danilo students," Ivanski said, and later declared his recusal before the vote.
A council member moved to accept item 5.6 from the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote with Ivanski recusing himself. Earlier, the council had approved the remainder of the consent agenda by voice vote after affirming none of the other items required separate discussion.
The minutes will record the recusal and the council’s action to accept item 5.6. The council moved on to its regular agenda after completing consent business.
