Lake Odessa council approves slate of resolutions, refers zoning changes and schedules budget hearing in unanimous votes

At its Jan. 21 meeting the Lake Odessa Village Council unanimously adopted a series of resolutions and ordinances—including appointment confirmations, grant-document authorization, selection of municipal finance advisors and referrals of zoning text amendments—and set a public hearing for the FY 2026–2027 budget and millage rates.
Village President Karen Banks presided as the Lake Odessa Village Council on Jan. 21 adopted a package of routine resolutions and ordinances by unanimous roll-call votes.
The council approved Resolution 2026-02 confirming the village appointment list and adopted Resolution 2026-03 authorizing the Clerk/Treasurer to execute documents related to Grant 26EX11831. The council also adopted Resolution 2026-04 to set a public hearing for the FY 2026–2027 Village of Lake Odessa budget and proposed millage rates.
The council selected Bendzinski & Co. as the registered municipal advisor for issuance of 2026 capital improvement bonds under Resolution 2026-05 and approved use of the municipal beach to stage a paddleboard, kayak and canoe race on Jordan Lake on June 6, 2026 (Resolution 2026-06). The council authorized purchase of trash receptacles from Polly Products (Resolution 2026-07) and referred proposed zoning ordinance text amendments concerning building design standards to the Planning Commission for public hearing (Ordinance 2026-08).
Council members also adopted Resolution 2026-09 approving a quotation to remove trees in advance of the 2026 street improvement program, and adopted Ordinance 2025-07 amending Section 36-66 of the village code on minor site plan amendments and revisions. All recorded votes for these items were unanimous.
The actions were largely procedural and recorded in the meeting minutes with motions and seconders on the record; all adopted items carried by 7-0 roll-call votes after Trustee Martha Yoder arrived. The council took no substantive amendments to the proposals during the meeting.
The clerk’s office will post finalized resolutions and the formal ordinance text after they are prepared and recorded. The public hearing to consider the FY 2026–2027 budget and millage rates will be scheduled per Resolution 2026-04.
