Victoria swears in five new firefighters

New firefighters who introduced themselves included Eric Kementh, a utilities department public-works employee and former firefighter in other Minnesota communities; Dylan Lundmark, who works in an emergency room and recently moved to Victoria; Ryan Cleaver, who is completing a welding certificate; and Clayton Mechtel, a longtime local resident. The oath emphasized service, compassion and adherence to city and state law.
The acting mayor thanked the new firefighters on behalf of the council and noted the responsibility they accept in serving residents during emergencies. The council invited a group photo and moved on to the rest of the agenda.
What happens next: The firefighters will be integrated into department operations and available for emergency response as scheduled by Fire Department leadership.
