Council introduces joint resolution affirming Seattle's readiness for an NBA franchise

The council announced a Sonics readiness roundtable to be held April 2 at 9:30 a.m. to hear from the Seattle Sports Commission, fan groups, the mayor's office and others.
Council member Kettle urged support and highlighted community partnerships with the arena's operators and the OneRoof Foundation; members said the item will be considered in Saka’s committee with additional outreach to community stakeholders.
The resolution is a policy signal rather than an ordinance and will proceed through committee review and any required city processes.
