The Eureka County Liquor Board voted Jan. 6, 2026, to appoint Marfy Plaskett as chair and Rich McKay as vice chair for the 2026 calendar year.
Commissioner Mike Schoenwald moved to approve Marfy Plaskett as chairperson and Rich McKay as vice chair; Commissioner Rich McKay seconded and the motion carried 5-0. The action was recorded as part of the board’s regular meeting in the Commissioner’s Chambers at the Eureka County Courthouse.
The board opened the meeting at 9:18 a.m.; the minutes list Chairman Marfy Plaskett, Vice Chair Rich McKay, Assistant District Attorney Holli Else, Sheriff Miles Umina and Deputy Clerk Recorder Katelyn Ziemann as present, and state that the interactive video conferencing system was connected between Crescent Valley and Eureka for the entire meeting. Chairman Plaskett called for public comment in both locations and, hearing none, moved on to the next item.
Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner Rich McKay moved to approve the agenda; Commissioner Mike Schoenwald seconded and the vote carried 5-0. The board also approved the minutes of the Dec. 16, 2025 Liquor Board meeting on a 5-0 vote after Commissioner Schoenwald moved for approval and Sheriff Miles Umina seconded.
Sheriff Miles Umina moved to adjourn the meeting; Commissioner Mike Schoenwald seconded. The motion carried 5-0 and the meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
The minutes were prepared and submitted by Deputy Clerk Recorder Katelyn Ziemann and include a notation that the Board of Eureka County approved them on March 17, 2026. The minutes record a 5-0 vote on each formal action.
