Council holds public hearing on 2024 Comprehensive Plan update, leaves record open for agency comments

The Granite Falls City Council opened a public hearing on Dec. 4 to consider adoption of Ordinance No. 1058-2024, the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. Community Development Director Eric Jensen presented the process, the elements and exhibits included in the record and noted the city would hold the record open to receive agency comments still forthcoming.
Mayor Matthew Hartman opened the public testimony portion of the hearing; no audience members signed up to speak and no written comments had been submitted to the City Clerk prior to the meeting. With no public testimony, the council closed the hearing and took no action; staff indicated formal action was expected at the Dec. 18 council meeting.
The presentation emphasized procedural steps for the periodic update and the staff report was entered into the record. Councilmembers did not vote on adoption at the Dec. 4 meeting and the hearing record remains open for agency reviewers and participants to submit comments ahead of the scheduled action date.
