The Kohler School Board on April 1 read a resolution recognizing Mary Strzok, publisher and editor of the Kohler Villager, for “professionalism, partnership and continued dedication” in sharing district news and fostering community engagement. Board President presented the resolution and invited Strzok to speak.
Strzok, who was acknowledged by name in the board’s resolution, said the newsletter has been active for roughly two decades and that she began working on the school newsletter in 2003. “So technically, it’s been 22, 23 years,” she said, adding she has enjoyed the work.
Board members praised the Villager’s role in amplifying district communications, including sharing board articles, reposting positive school news and helping the district reach residents. The board took a photo with Strzok following the recognition.
No formal vote on the resolution was recorded in the meeting transcript; the item was presented as a formal acknowledgment on behalf of the board.
