Public commenter Mark Nowak (S13), representing CSEA, thanked district and union negotiators for quickly resolving an STRS reporting issue that affected about 20 employees. Vince (S14) explained the MOU is narrowly written for the 2025‑26 year only; after Jan. 5 the district and union intend to revert to the standard Nov. 10 deadline.
Board members praised the collaborative approach. The motion to approve the MOU was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote. District and union leaders said the agreement produced positive outcomes for the affected employees and gave staff a brief extension to complete necessary units toward salary advancement.
The MOU was described as a one‑time remedy tied to an external reporting issue and will expire Jan. 5, 2026; the district affirmed normal timelines will resume in future years.
