At its April meeting the Show Low School District board approved several contracts, intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) and vendor selections critical to operations and technology.
The board approved an annual renewal with ESI (Item 8.8) that allows newly retired employees to be rehired through a third-party employer, preserving experience while complying with state retirement rules. The board also authorized three-year IGAs with Northland Pioneer College to continue dual-enrollment offerings and with the NAVIT consortium to support CTE offerings at the high school.
On technology, the board selected GigaCom as the E-rate vendor to run fiber and replace wireless access points; the superintendent explained the E-rate funding pays about 80% of the eligible work and the district would cover the remaining share (about 15–20%). The board also approved a sole-source contract for IEP Pro (MediaNet Solutions) to manage IEP documentation and compliance for special-education students; board members clarified that staff input the IEP information and that the system is not an AI-based tool.
The board accepted a list of community donations (examples included Perkin Cinders $100 for FBLA, Safeway $100 gift card, Carolyn Pinkard $788.20, and Sholo Youth Foundation grants to support science and PE equipment). These gifts were acknowledged and accepted as listed on the agenda.
All items were moved, seconded and approved during the consent/action portion of the meeting.
