Fidel Hernandez told the council he and neighbors noticed some sections of the wall were finished while others were not after a prior project; he said the community started a petition in February and ‘‘around 50’’ people signed it from the affected stretch. Hernandez asked whether the city could provide a timeline so residents might know when the remaining wall segments would be completed.
Mayor Overson thanked Hernandez for attending and for previous communications, and said city staff are reviewing records of who constructed which sections and will meet with the neighborhood in the coming weeks to present the city’s side and timelines for completion. “We plan to get with you in the next few weeks and present to you our side,” the mayor said.
The council did not take immediate action but committed to follow up with staff and the resident group to clarify responsibilities and schedule next steps.
