Board approves consent agenda, policy updates and two school donations
Summary
The District 59 Board approved the consent agenda (items 6.01–6.05), adopted policy updates from PRESS update 1-20 (action 7.01) and accepted donations of $2,500 to Brentwood Elementary (anonymous) and $500 to Salt Creek Elementary (Laurie and David Miller).
At the Feb. 11 meeting the Board approved routine business and several action items by roll-call vote.
The consent agenda (items 6.01–6.05) was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote in which trustees recorded aye votes. The board then approved action item 7.01, the adoption of board policy updates from the PRESS update 1-20, following a separate roll-call vote.
The board also approved two donations: a $2,500 anonymous donation to Brentwood Elementary to clear negative meal-account balances, and a $500 donation from Laurie and David Miller to Salt Creek Elementary to support student lunches. Each donation resolution will be recorded in the official minutes and the superintendent was directed to send letters of appreciation to donors.
Finally, trustees voted to enter closed session for agenda items a–g; the meeting recessed to closed session at the close of public business.
