RJUHSD presents LCAP midyear update: most metrics stable or improving; English-learner progress flagged

Roseville Joint Union High School District staff presented a midyear update on the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), reporting overall progress on most metrics while identifying specific groups where achievement gaps persist.
Executive Director Josh Mason told the board that SB 114 requires districts to present LCAP information by February 28 and that 20 of the district’s 26 LCAP metrics are measurable at midyear. Mason said the district has maintained or improved on many indicators — including graduation rate, ELA and math measures and college-and-career metrics — but singled out English-learner progress as a metric that remains a concern.
Mason said about 32 percent of budgeted expenditures have been spent to date, and he noted that final-year spending will rise as planned. He recommended continued investment in interventions for English learners, foster youth, socioeconomically disadvantaged students and students with disabilities to narrow achievement gaps. Trustees asked clarifying questions and thanked staff for the report.
Mason said staff will continue data-driven work on targeted supports and will bring additional outcome data as it becomes available later in the school year.
