Bradford board approves consent items, hears solar, roofing and greenhouse updates and votes to enter executive session

The Bradford Exempted Village Board of Education approved routine financial and consent items at its April meeting, gave staff permission to pursue a consultant for solar energy credits, received updates on roofing and greenhouse projects and voted to enter an executive session on agenda item G1.

Carlos, the district’s financial presenter, summarized the treasurer’s report and consent items for pages 3–4, noting donations from local groups and individuals and a request to procure a consultant to assist with solar energy credits. Carlos said the consultant contracts are expected to be “much less than $50,000,” added that the highest feasible estimate “looks to be around 25,000,” and said the district is “hopeful that we can have a successful contract at 10,000.” The board moved to approve the financial report and related consent items and recorded affirmative roll-call responses from present members.

Scott provided facilities updates: the first phase of roofing is complete and outstanding electrical work was finished over spring break; the district’s solar project was described as mobilizing the week of May 20 and expected to be finished by May 29 (per Scott’s timeline in the meeting). Scott said greenhouse work will begin with plumbing under the concrete and then footers and structure installation, and that architects are advancing field-house design. Carlos also reported that the district finished a busy audit season and remains up to date on required filings despite extra paperwork from grants and the solar project. The board later moved, seconded and approved items related to painting/roofing sequencing and a greenhouse plumber. The chair then motioned and the board voted to enter executive session under agenda item G1; the chair stated there would be no final decisions taken after that executive session.
