Wilmette SD 39 board accepts audits, approves personnel notices and adjourns to executive session

On March 23, 2026, the Wilmette School District 39 Board of Education approved a slate of routine financial and personnel items and adjourned into executive session.
The board voted to accept the district's fiscal year 2025 audit and the Wilmette Community Special Education Agreement (WICSI) audit as presented by Baker Tilly US LLP of Oak Brook, Illinois. The consent agenda also included approval of accounts payable totaling $1,196,700.08 and manual checks totaling $1,459,024.16.
Board members moved and seconded the consent agenda; the clerk called the roll and each member indicated assent. The motion carried.
In subsequent action, the board approved a resolution authorizing the "honorable dismissal" notices for six employees named in the resolution: Ellen Lee, Marisol Barnett, Jill Gershoon, Haley Hunken, Melissa Johnson and Hillary Rosenthal. The board separately approved a resolution authorizing notice of dismissal and nonrenewal for probationary teacher William Thompson. Both motions were moved, seconded and passed on roll-call votes.
Corey Boltzmeier, the district's finance representative, summarized the audit presentation earlier in the meeting and said the district had finished the year with a strong operating position.
With those actions complete, the board moved to adjourn to executive session to discuss specific personnel matters, special-education individual student matters, collective negotiations and minutes lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act. The motion carried and the board adjourned to executive session at 7:30 p.m.
