Police describe school-resource-officer coverage and falling crime rates; vaping and youth outreach flagged

The department noted vaping remains a pervasive on-campus issue and said it intends to pursue ordinance changes to restrict certain retail sales. The chief also described planned youth events and a parent–student awareness forum covering vaping dangers, mental-health crisis awareness and parent roles; Ventura County Behavioral Health and the Family Justice Center were listed as partners for the forum.
