The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 board approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that allows secure sharing of student progress, grades and demographic information with seven partner sending districts. CIO Buckwell told the board the agreement was built with legal review and technical safeguards aligned with FERPA; board members said the MOU should support articulation and program alignment as students move into District 86.
The partner districts named in the agenda included Butler 53, Marker 60, Darien 61, Gower 62, CAS 63, CCSD 180 and CCSD 181. The board voted on the MOU by roll call and the motion carried 6-0.
On a separate action the board approved the 2026 Summer School Program of Studies on second read; registration will open as scheduled. That motion also carried 6-0.
What the votes mean: trustees said the MOU enables more granular feedback to sending districts about course placements and student supports while legal and technical staff will continue to coordinate on secure transfers and redaction procedures.
