The Beach Haven Borough Council adopted an ordinance updating Chapter 137 (outdoor dining) to conform with recent state law and on final reading approved traffic changes that make a portion of 8th Street one-way.
During the final reading of Ordinance 2025-18c, resident John Dorian questioned whether traffic-flow studies had been performed. Council members and police described the change as a safety measure to reduce hazardous turning movements near Bay Avenue and noted the configuration will allow drivers to reach signalized intersections at Taylor and 6th. After brief discussion the ordinance passed on final reading with unanimous votes from council members present.
Ordinance 2025-19c, adding a stop sign at 9th and Delaware Avenue, was introduced on first reading and supported by the police chief; because it was a first reading it was not opened to public comment. The council approved moving 19c forward. Council also adopted several routine consent items and approved the bills list totaling $1,210,931.46.
