The board recorded five members physically present: Brandon Rogers (vice president), Melissa Gates (secretary), David Fritts, Linda LeBlanc‑Parks and Kathleen Schaefer. President Linda Wegner and member Jon Wadsworth were absent. District administrators in attendance included Superintendent Margo Empen and Assistant Superintendent Doug Stansford; Reagan Middle School principal Matt Magnafici and assistant principal Kylie Downie were also listed as present.
In Wegner's absence, Brandon Rogers was named president pro tem. Superintendent Margo Empen asked for a volunteer to serve as vice‑president pro tem; David Fritts agreed to serve in that temporary role. The board and staff recited the Pledge of Allegiance. There were no items offered during the Citizen's Agenda.
At 5:02 p.m. Mr. David Fritts moved, seconded by Mrs. Melissa Gates, to adjourn to executive session for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees (including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee) and student disciplinary cases. The board left for executive session and returned to open session at 5:47 p.m. on a motion by Mrs. Kathleen Schaefer, seconded by Mrs. Gates. The open‑session motion to return was approved by roll call with votes of Fritts, Gates, LeBlanc‑Parks, Schaefer and Rogers recorded as "yea."
After returning to open session the board considered an action item on a discipline recommendation for student #13431. Mrs. Melissa Gates moved to approve the recommendation and Mr. David Fritts seconded. Mr. Brandon Rogers read the resolution approving the recommendation. The motion was approved by roll call with unanimous "yea" votes from Fritts, Gates, LeBlanc‑Parks, Schaefer and Rogers.
A final motion by Mrs. Gates, seconded by Mr. Fritts, adjourned the special meeting at 5:49 p.m. The meeting was recorded and the district posted a video link on its website after the meeting.
