Planning commission hears update on Theravisca Road drainage and erosion-control work

Brett Thany, representing Jones Company, updated the Williamson County Regional Planning Commission on Theravisca Road’s drainage and erosion-control bond work, reporting geotechnical materials have been submitted to the county’s consultant and that crews continue to monitor a problematic bioretention pond.
Thany said the pond has held about an inch of standing water “for the last couple months” despite twice-weekly checks and hand-excavation attempts. He said the project team will meet the project engineer on-site and “may propose a different fix to try to overcome the groundwater that’s coming into that detention pond.”
On related work, Thany said the developer received a bid for the wastewater service road and is evaluating an alternative that would pave the road rather than leave it as gravel; a road core-sample report from the geotechnical firm has been turned over to the engineer for review. If conditions and approvals allow, Thany said the service road could be built in about 30–45 days.
Thany also said the contractor plans to plant trees near the berm and road within one to two weeks and that bids for Section 1 repairs had been received and were being reviewed with the project engineer. He invited questions from commissioners and indicated staff and the county engineer will review the submitted reports before further work proceeds.
The report was received by the commission; no formal action was required.
