JTHS board approves broad personnel actions; expulsion for Student C252614 stayed while student attends Lincoln School

At the Feb. 17 meeting, the Joliet Township High School District 204 board approved an extensive personnel report and took action on a student-discipline matter.

Trustees approved multiple professional resignations and retirements (including a director-level resignation and several staff retirement dates listed far in the future), leaves of absence, salary-advancement requests, summer-school assignments, classified hires and change-of-status recommendations. The board approved Personnel Reports 1–5 and 7–13 on a motion by Mr. Dan Coffey, seconded by Mrs. Michelle Stiff; the roll-call vote recorded all five present trustees as aye. Personnel Report 6 was approved in a separate motion, with Mr. Thomas Fitzpatrick recorded as voting nay on that specific report.

On student discipline, Mr. Coffey summarized the board’s role after the hearing officer’s report and moved to expel Student C252614 from all District 204 programs until January 2027. The board then stayed the expulsion so Student C252614 may continue their education through Lincoln School for the duration of the recommended expulsion; the student may reenroll at Joliet Township High School District 204 in January 2027. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Christine Lynn and carried on a roll-call vote: Ayes — Mrs. Stiff, Mr. Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Lynn, Mrs. Guerrero Neumayer, and Mr. Coffey; Nays — none.
