Principals report rising early registration; PTO raises $50,000 matching grant for middle‑school pavilion

The elementary presenter (S6) said the district’s first preschool registration round brought about 26 children and kindergarten screening yielded about 70 signed‑up students, up from roughly 60 last year. S6 also described an Indiana Learns tutoring grant that supported about 70 students with 20 after‑school sessions each (10 for math and 10 for language arts) provided by roughly 19 teachers.
The middle‑school presenter (S4) reported checkpoint practice testing results by grade and said targeted summer instruction will focus on seventh‑grade curriculum where gaps remain. S4 also announced that the PTO met its $50,000 matching‑grant goal; the money will be used to purchase an outdoor pavilion learning center and playground equipment behind the middle school. Fencing for the playground will be installed after the pavilion and equipment are in place.
High‑school updates (S9) included a run‑down of spring events — choir and band concerts, an academic dinner for top students, and graduation scheduled for June 5 at Community Field (weather permitting). S9 said SAT results are being compiled and will be reported at a future meeting once state processing is complete.
Board members thanked principals and staff for attendance and for work on testing coordination and student supports.
