The Adair County Board of Supervisors voted on March 31 to appoint Supervisor Christoffersen as an ex officio (nonvoting) member of the county Conservation Board.
Dominic Johnson, the county Conservation Director, told the board he supported having nonvoting board representation to strengthen communication between the Conservation Board and the Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Wedemeyer moved to appoint Christoffersen; Supervisor Hoadley seconded the motion. Supervisor Christoffersen abstained from the recorded vote; the motion otherwise carried.
Board discussion noted that other counties use similar nonvoting arrangements to improve coordination. The board asked staff to document the ex officio role as nonvoting and to follow any required administrative steps for the Conservation Board records.
