During deliberations, board members sought clarification about adjustments in state personnel categories and a technical transfer of 134 positions described by Darren Conforti, the executive director of budget. Conforti explained that a state-category personnel adjustment produced a negative line on one summary schedule but did not change the board’s requested operating appropriation. Board members asked about special-education line items; staff provided programmatic and accounting clarifications.
The board asked staff to proceed with submission to the county and to provide follow-up materials as requested during the discussion. The adoption will proceed through the county budget process as the board’s formal request.
