Mr. Trevor Kaeding, Director of Technology and program coordinator and coach of Imlay City’s eSports club, presented logistics and early successes of the club at the Sept. 22 board meeting. Kaeding said the club is part of the Michigan High School eSports League (MHSEL), which he said comprises 187 schools and over 3600 students; he also shared pictures of the team’s new space, described upcoming competitions, and highlighted student opportunities for a "full ride college scholarship."
The presentation was recorded under the Introductions and Presentations portion of the minutes; no formal board action was tied to the presentation. Separately, Dr. Stu Cameron provided standard administrative updates including homecoming week, recognition of Varsity Football Coach Dave Brown’s continued successes, upcoming Buildings & Grounds and Personnel & Policy committee meetings, and the district’s newly assigned School Resource Officer, Kristen Karr, who will make a future presentation to the board. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
