The Richardson County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved two road-construction contracts on April 1, 2026.
Chairman John Caverzagie announced that the Dawson Northwest project No. C74(2023-05) was awarded to Van Dorn Valley, LLC of Denton, Nebraska, for $40,720.78 after a motion by Commissioner Karas and a second by Caverzagie. The motion passed on a roll-call vote: Karas—aye, Campbell—aye, Caverzagie—aye.
At 10:00 a.m. the board opened sealed bids for the 2026 Scrub Mastic Project No. C-74(2026-02) on the dustless highway. Chairman Caverzagie reported that one bid was received from Hall Brothers, Inc., of Marysville, Kansas, for $271,043.52 with a projected start date of July 6 and completion on July 16, 2026. Commissioner Caverzagie moved to accept the Hall Brothers bid; Commissioner Campbell seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously to accept it.
The awards were entered into the record and will proceed under the terms of the successful bids. No amendments or contingency conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
