The Faribault Public School District board moved into a closed session on Jan. 5 to discuss the sale of district property.
At 6:37 p.m. the board moved, on a motion by Lynda Boudreau seconded by Chad Wolff, to enter closed session as permitted by Minn. Stat. 13D.05, Subd. 3(c), to discuss the sale of property located at Faribault Area Learning Center (ALC), 2855 1st Ave NW, Faribault, MN. The motion passed unanimously, 6-0. The closed session began at 6:45 p.m.; attendees listed for the closed session included Chair John Bellingham, board members, Superintendent Jamie Bente and Director of Finance Barbie Roessler. The board later moved to adjourn the closed session and reconvene the open meeting; that motion passed unanimously.
The minutes record the statutory authority cited for the closed session and the property location but do not include details of the closed-session discussion or any agreement reached there; Minnesota law permits nonpublic discussion of certain real-estate negotiations under the cited statute.
