Argo Community High School District 217’s Finance Committee reviewed a proposed Property Tax Levy under Resolution #25-26-R04 that would set capped-fund levy request at $35,481,000, a 4.99% increase intended to protect the district against uncertainties such as new construction and shifts in equalized assessed value.
The levy document lists the Bond and Interest Levy payment at $2,516,619, an increase of $142,449 from the prior year. According to the minutes, the district is submitting the levy request to provide budgetary protections for the coming year.
Committee members also reviewed the district’s month-end financials for the period ending Nov. 30, 2025. Fund balance cash reserves stood at $40,532,964, down from $42,956,793 the previous month. Revenues for the month totaled $2,163,241 while expenditures were $4,587,070. The district reported it is five months (42%) into the fiscal year, has received 16% of budgeted revenues year to date and spent 32% of budgeted expenditures year to date.
Accounts payable for December were listed at $1,599,711.85; Ms. Catherine Jozwiak reviewed the payables and reported they were in order. Ms. Jozwiak asked whether overtime reports from Dr. Rojek’s department had been sent for monitoring; Dr. Joseph Rojek said he would provide that information right away.
The minutes do not record a formal vote on the levy at this meeting. The Finance Committee adjourned at 6:03 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026, at 5:45 p.m.
