Pottawattamie County trustees approve vendor payments, opt not to levy 2026 drainage assessments

In the South Noble Lake Drainage District meeting, trustee Jeff Jorgensen moved to open the meeting; Susan Miller seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board approved the minutes from the February 24, 2026 meeting on a motion by Miller and seconded by Jorgensen.
The trustees approved a $760 invoice from Bolton & Menk for FEMA closeout work related to finalizing the district’s obligation from the 2024 flood; the motion was moved by Jorgensen and seconded by Keith Jones and recorded as carried unanimously. The board also approved a $30,000 invoice from contractor Fox Dirt for tree removal and cleanup in the district; that motion was moved by Miller, seconded by Jorgensen and carried unanimously.
Trustees then voted — on a motion by Miller, seconded by Jorgensen — not to levy the 2026 drainage district assessment for South Noble Lake. The motion carried unanimously, meaning the board did not set a new assessment for that district for 2026.
During the subsequent C & R Drainage District meeting, Chairman Brian Shea opened the session. Trustees approved the February 24 minutes on a motion by Jorgensen, seconded by Keith Jones. The board approved a Bolton & Menk invoice for $15,952.50 (motion by Jorgensen, seconded by Jones), recorded as carried unanimously. Trustees also voted not to levy the 2026 drainage district assessment for the C & R Drainage District on a motion moved by Jorgensen and seconded by Jones; that motion carried unanimously.
