"We're very excited about this project and essentially extending what Miriam already created last year," a representative said.
Commissioners complimented the site choice and raised questions about long‑term durability and freeze‑thaw detailing for tile work. Staff explained the initial installation will use the smooth concrete area and that extending the mosaic to a textured corner would require additional work and cost; the project team said they hope to seek funding for that extension later.
The commission approved the project with the findings in the staff report, and staff will record the approval and coordinate permit and installation details with the applicant and the art commission.
