Community Development Director Eric Jensen presented Part 2 of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan periodic update at the Nov. 6 council meeting, reviewing element chapters and recommending specific edits to project timelines and descriptions.
Jensen proposed moving the War Memorial project priority into 2025 and reprioritizing the Plaza to 2026, and identified required edits to Table CF‑5 and Table CF‑1 to align project end dates. He recommended changing the address and description of PRO‑1 (Perrigoue Memorial Park) to 10293 Jordan Rd. with a clarified description that the city-owned property is available for Little League use in perpetuity if the fields are maintained. Jensen also asked Council to consider adding a narrative chapter supporting O'Reilly Acres as a potential future park facility.
The presentation included requested corrections and next steps: staff will update the tables and project timelines as directed and bring the revised chapters back to Council. Jensen earlier noted that Miller had withdrawn and resubmitted a comprehensive plan proposal for 2025 and that the process will continue with a subsequent meeting to complete Part 3 and a public hearing scheduled Dec. 4, 2024.
