The Reading Zoning Hearing Board approved five appeals during its April 8, 2026 meeting, each by motion, second and voice vote.
Solicitor Steven Price announced each motion and, after members responded “Aye,” declared the motions carried. The approvals were recorded as being “subject to the conditions set forth in the written decision.” The five appeals approved were: appeal 2512-0042 (509 North 6th Street), appeal 2511-0038551 (Gordon Street), appeal 2602-00031215 (North 11th Street), appeal 2602-00041216 (Perkeum Avenue), and appeal 2602-00051001 (Lancaster Avenue).
The board used the meeting’s roll call and standard procedure for handling decisions: motion, second, opportunity for comment, and a voice vote. The solicitor said copies of the written decisions will be mailed to the applicants.
No member of the public offered testimony on those appeal decisions during the meeting. Any conditions attached to the approved appeals are those recorded in each item’s written decision; the transcript of the meeting does not publish those written conditions verbatim.
The board moved from the votes into evidentiary hearings that evening, beginning with two hearings for which decisions will be rendered at the board’s May meeting.
