Staff responded to Hines’ objection by saying the invoice is being paid pursuant to an agreement with San Jose and that the payment was appropriate under that contract; the city attorney would provide any legal guidance if needed.
Mayor Lopez directed staff to follow up as appropriate with the city attorney and thanked staff and council for the discussion. The vote cleared routine payments so the city can proceed with disbursements on schedule.
