Sarah Poetson told commissioners the county’s current 2015 Ford Expedition has rust problems and a failing battery and requested approval to purchase a replacement; she said Weekley's in Butler provided a quote for $48,000. After brief discussion about engine size and the vehicle’s condition, the board approved the purchase by motion.
The board also approved certification of the April 7 record of proceedings, routine requisitions and a weekly transfer/additional appropriation related to the CAC closure after staff clarified fund balances. County staff authorized disposal of an old printer and a Cisco server rack. Commissioners approved promotion of Jared Smith from meter maintenance technician to chief of maintenance at wastewater, retroactive to midnight the previous day at $24 an hour.
"It's dead, dead. The battery is toast," Poetson said describing the current vehicle and noting a replacement battery would cost about $150 but that replacement of the vehicle was necessary. The board adjourned at 9:58 a.m.
