Ballard’s City Council voted on several routine items March 3, approving a $1,000 sponsorship for the Uintah Basin Livestock Show and confirming meeting minutes and the city’s financial reports.
Tanner Birchell, representing the Uintah Basin Livestock Show, asked the council to provide funds for premium awards at the Vernal show. Council Member Alfred Kettle moved to sponsor the event for $1,000; Council Member Shaun Murray seconded and the motion carried with Mayor Nile Mathisen, Council Member Shaun Murray and Council Member Alfred Kettle voting in favor. Council Members Ben Allred and Steve Secrest were excused.
The council also approved the council minutes from Feb. 17, 2026 (motion by Council Member Shaun Murray, seconded by Council Member Alfred Kettle) and the combined meeting minutes from Feb. 26, 2026 (motion by Council Member Alfred Kettle, seconded by Council Member Shaun Murray). Both motions were recorded as carried by those present.
On finances, Council Member Shaun Murray moved to approve the checks, statements and budget reports as presented; Council Member Alfred Kettle seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn by Council Member Alfred Kettle, seconded by Council Member Shaun Murray, which passed with all present in favor.
