"By statute, when you approve a subdivision, it is also anticipated that you will have a subdivision improvement agreement," the county attorney told commissioners, describing the SIA as the instrument that ensures required off-lot or public improvements get built. He recommended the board adopt a resolution approving the form and include language allowing staff to make non-material modifications while reserving material changes for board approval.
Commissioners said the draft looked good from an initial review but asked to delay final action until Commissioner Schroeder can weigh in. The county attorney and staff agreed to schedule the SIA for the first business meeting in January to give all commissioners time to review recent edits.
No formal adoption or vote occurred at the meeting; the presentation was informational and the item will return for board consideration with the expectation the board will consider a cover resolution defining material and non-material modifications.
