The Caddo Parish Commission voted unanimously on April 9 to adopt two zoning ordinances and a measure to deem certain parish property surplus.
Ordinance 66‑09 (Caddo Parish Zoning Commission case 25‑28‑p) amends zoning for property on the west side of Atkinson Drive in District 12; the commission recorded no opposition and commissioners described the change as compatible with the business district.
Ordinance 66‑10 (case 25‑29‑p) rezones property on Southern Loop in District 9 from C‑2 Corridor commercial PUD to C‑3 General commercial, which supporters said aligns with ongoing corridor development. Both zoning measures passed with 12 votes in favor and none opposed.
The commission also adopted ordinance 66‑11 declaring certain parish property surplus and authorizing its sale; that measure likewise passed unanimously.
Commissioners said the zoning decisions reflect recent development patterns and compatibility assessments by staff and the planning commission. Administration and district commissioners noted no outstanding opposition had been filed for these items.
All adopted ordinances will be processed according to standard administrative steps for implementation and recordation.
