Arts Commission hears updates on public-art donations, fundraising and spring events

Marks described the recent ribbon cutting for 'Cloud Embrace,' a work donated to the city; he said Visit OKC used approximately $250,000 in ARPA funds for the project and the Inasmuch Foundation contributed a similar match. Marks also explained that the Bricktown fountain was removed after staff estimated roughly $150,000 in repairs and ongoing maintenance costs in the tens of thousands per year (the transcript lists "30,030 to $40,000"). Commissioners added calendar notes for the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts (opening April 22) and reminded members the commission’s April meeting will begin earlier on April 20 in Council Chambers because of festival setup.
