The Keokuk City Council approved routine business on Nov. 6, including minutes, a liquor license, board appointments and payments from registers 5504–5506. Council also approved a demolition contract for two vacant, fire-damaged houses at 407 and 415 Timia Street with a low bid of $13,995 from W and S Contracting; the city will bill the property owner and place a lien if not paid.
Council approved a budgeted purchase of a 2026 International dump truck for $106,175.99 under a Sourcewell contract to replace a 1989 vehicle. The council set bid letting for the Main Street and North 7th traffic signal project for Nov. 25, 2025, and scheduled a public hearing and award meeting for Dec. 4, 2025.
Why it matters: These routine items fund basic city services—street maintenance and right-of-way safety—and remove hazardous, vacant properties.
What’s next: Contractors will be notified to proceed on contract items and staff will manage implementation per budget and procurement schedules.
