The Oklahoma City Arts Commission on March 16 adopted a resolution commending Stefan Kovacs for his service to the commission, the city and the arts community. The resolution—read aloud by Robbie Jones, special projects manager—recited Kovacs' service beginning 06/13/2012 and noted two terms as commission chair in the text.
Randy Marks, program planner in the Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, introduced the item with personal remarks about Kovacs’ volunteer leadership and long-term contributions to selection committees and to establishing guidelines and practices for the new office. Robbie Jones read the resolution’s language recognizing Kovacs’ volunteer leadership across a range of arts organizations and his prior career experience.
Kovacs addressed the commission briefly, thanked colleagues and said he did not intend to step away immediately despite the resolution’s recognition. Commissioners moved to accept the resolution and the motion passed.
The resolution will be included in commission records.
