Colton Joint Unified honors lead nurse Christine Whitmire and Director Wendy Moore

At the July 17 meeting the Colton Joint Unified board and district leaders recognized two long-serving staff members. Rob Pearson and other presenters highlighted Dr. Christine Whitmire’s 21 years of service as the district’s lead nurse, commending her role during the COVID-19 response and presenting her with a departmental recognition and challenge coin. Dr. Whitmire accepted thanks and acknowledged family and colleagues in attendance.
Doctor Peterson introduced Dr. Wendy Moore as a language-support leader who helped the district end an 11-year oversight and who has led development of dual-immersion and multilingual-learner plans. Moore thanked colleagues and credited team efforts for system improvements.
The recognitions were brief and celebratory; staff said the district values their leadership and service as the new school year approaches.
