BMAT Elementary students and staff celebrate school's 25th anniversary before board

Students, staff and an ASB group presented a program to the Norris School District Board to mark BMAT Elementary’s 25th anniversary. School presenters delivered a slideshow listing “25 reasons” the school is special, praised teacher engagement and community support, and described extracurricular and outreach programs that the school runs with local partners.
School presenters told the board the campus has raised $223,848.31 over 25 years for cancer research and has been honored as a legacy team by fundraising organizations. Students from kindergarten and other grades offered brief remarks about teachers, learning and school programs. One student said teachers “help us when we make mistakes” and praised classroom projects and the sense of community.
Board members and attendees offered personal recollections about the school’s namesake and noted a donated jacket on display in the cafeteria. The board thanked student presenters and allowed them to leave after the presentation.
