The board noted some updates reflected recent changes in law, expanded guidance on electronic records and data retention, and additions to training and safety-plan language.
Separately, the board approved an annual declaration of need authorizing the district to hire credentialed teachers and, if necessary, to use emergency permits or approved internship agreements with partner universities. District staff said the declaration documents the district’s authority to recruit and hire to meet staffing needs for the coming school year.
No individual vote tallies with named votes were recorded on the meeting transcript; actions were adopted by voice vote after motions and seconds. The board indicated the hearings and votes were routine and there were no objections recorded on the public record.
