East Aurora High senior DJ Robinson honored for national and local accomplishments

At the April 7 board meeting Aurora East USD 131 recognized East Aurora High senior DJ Robinson for receiving a 2026 Yes I Can academic award from the Council for Exceptional Children and the 2026 MLK Character Award; a local reception will be funded by sponsors.
During the community relations portion of the April 7 meeting Britney Walker recognized East Aurora High senior Dale Jeremiah (known as DJ Robinson) for national and local awards.
Walker told the board that Robinson was one of two students recognized in the academics category at the 2026 Yes I Can Awards from the Council for Exceptional Children and that Robinson had received the 2026 MLK Character Award in Aurora. Walker said Robinson participates in school activities including morning announcements, National Honor Society and mentoring programs and that sponsors (including Einstein advocates) will fund a local reception in Aurora to celebrate the achievement.
Dr. Halverson and board members offered congratulations and noted the district will share details about the reception and distribute certificates of recognition. The student and family joined district staff for photographs at the meeting.
