Board recognizes family and staff; student rep previews fall events
Summary
The board honored a family partners recipient and an employee-reception honoree; student board representative Adrianna Boyce reported fall events and school activities across district campuses.
The Rocklin Unified School District board opened its meeting with recognitions. A family (the Pueda family) was honored for long-term engagement and fundraising support at a Granite Oaks site. Principal Jay Holmes introduced the family and described their work on site council and booster fundraisers.
Corey Trail principal Melanie Patterson introduced Elizabeth Salazar ("Miss Liz"), the school's principal secretary, and described her role coordinating substitutes, supporting dual-language programming and serving families; the board presented a certificate and a small gift.
Student board representative Adrianna Boyce (Whitney High School) gave a report on school activities and upcoming events: theater and arts productions, book fairs, cross-country meets, PTC movie-night and community events, and Whitney High's homecoming week culminating with the Corry Bowl on Oct. 4.
The recognitions and student report preceded routine business and were followed by action items.
